Today, in kid's busy world of extracurricular activity and phone, I thought it would be nice to write a story about, well, being a kid. I remember days of mud pies, hot wheels cars, and running through the sprinklers. I remember playing outside on a warm summer's evening and watching the street lights flicker as they came on to full power. I didn't have a phone, but I had a some friends. And a group of friends found lots of creative things to do without Instagram, Facebook, etc...I know that technology is here to stay, but so much can be learned by exploring in real life. I hope kids can get less dependent on instant media for entertainment, but use the powers of the internet for necessary learning. Pixels will never replace a true friend.
